STONE DETAILS

Carnelian The name carnelian originates from the Latin “Caro” which means “flesh”due t the reddish/brown colouring. This stone belongs to the Quartz family, and is a silicone Dioxide with trace elements of iron ore. It is characterized by the Trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 6-7 on the Mohs scale. Carnelian can be obtained in different countries, some of  which are Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Germany and India.

Hematite Hematite comes from the Greek word “aima” which means Blood and it is an Iron Oxide. It is characterized by a hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale. Hematite can be found in various countries, including Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand.
