Jasper The origins of this name are not well documented, but the roots are almost certainly from the Far East. Jasper is a member of the Quartz family, which is characterized by the trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Ocean Jasper is derived mostly from Morocco.

Hematite Hematite comes from the Greek word “aima” which means Blood and it is an Iron Oxide. It is characterized by a hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale. Hematite can be found in various countries, including Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand.
