STONE DETAILS
The name carnelian originates from the Latin “Caro” which means “flesh” due to the reddish/brown coloring. It is a silicate mineral colored by impurities of iron oxide and it belongs to the quartz family. It is characterized by the trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 6-7 on the Mohs scale. Carnelian derives from different countries, some of which are Brazil, Russia, Peru, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Germany and India.
STONE PROPERTIES
This stone provides grounding, and encourages productivity. It repels feelings of fear, sadness, and exasperation. It bestows courage and bravery and empowerment, and strengthens positive thoughts and emotions, leading to motivation and success. It heightens perception of self confidence, and perseverance. It is thought that carnelian can help with neuralgia, and arthritic problems, and aids against depression. Last but not least, carnelian is credited with the successful running of the metabolic system. In the Zodiac field, Carnelian is attached to the zodiac signs of Aries, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Leo and Cancer.
