STONE DETAILS

 Lapis lazuli comes from the Persian word ”lazhuward” (sky blue) It is a stong blue colour and often has “gold” shimmers due to the presence of pyrite which it often contains. It is formed mainly from aluminum,  natrium, calcite, sulphur,  and minute crystals of pyrite. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 5-5.5 and it is in the form of Isometric crystals. Lapis Lazuli can be found in a few countries, including Afghanistan, Egypt and Chile.

Lapis Lazuli is referred to as the Erotic stone and is connected to Aphrodite.  Useful in attracting new friends, and ensuring the continuing love of old ones. It helps eliminate stress, and produce feelings of peace and harmony. Protects against negative energy, calms frazzled nerves, and ensures peaceful slumber. It is said to be helpful with headaches, reduce blood pressure and high temperature, and guard against dysmenorrhoea. It is also thought to assist against epilepsy and strokes.
