The word Apatite comes from the Greek “απατώ” (fraud) because it is often amalgamated with other minerals. Apatite is a phosphoric calcite characterized by the hexagonal  structural  formation, and measures 5 on the Mohs scale. Apatite can be found in many countries, including Brazil, the USA, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Africa and Mexico.
