STONE DETAILS

Aquamarine The name of this mineral is derived from the Latin words “aqua”, meaning water and ”marina”, meaning the sea -the color of the sea. It is a silicate mineral and belongs to the Beryl family. It is characterized by the hexagonal crystal system and the hardness of 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale.  Aquamarine can be found in various countries including Brazil, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, India, the USA, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Afghanistan and Tanzania.

Crystal Quartz The name of this mineral derives from the Greek word “xalaza”, which means hail, due to the fact that in ancient times many people believed that it is solidified water. It is a silicate mineral that belongs to the group of the tectosilicate minerals. Crystal quartz is characterized by the trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Crystal quartz can be found in various countries, including Brazil, the USA, Sri Lanka, India and Madagascar.
