STONE DETAILS

Anyolite Anyolite is a combination of green zoisite and red ruby minerals, with the main mass of this rock consisting of zoisite. For this reason this mineral is also known as “ruby in zoisite” and sometimes it is accompanied by black tschermakite crystals. The name Anyolite is derived from the Maasai word anyoli, meaning “green”. It is a silicate mineral, characterized by the orthorhombic crystal system and the hardness of 6.5 on the Mohs scale. Anyolite is derived from different countries, including Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar, Australia, Austria, India and Sri Lanka.

Pyrite The word “pyrite” is taken from the Greek word «pyr» meaning Fire. That name was given to the mineral, as Pyrite was used to spark flames to light fires. Pyrite, or iron pyrite, is an iron disulfide, which is characterized by the cubic crystal system and the hardness of 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale. Pyrite is derived mostly from Peru, the USA, Bolivia and Spain.
