STONE DETAILS

Tiger’s eye This stone takes its name from its colour and iridescence which resemble that of a tiger’s eye. Tiger Eye is a silicone mineral, which belongs to the tectosilicate group and quartz family with a mobile reflection. It is characterized by the trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale. This stone can be found in different countries such as S. Africa, India, China and Burma.  

Pyrite The word “pyrite” is taken from the Greek word «pyr» meaning Fire. That name was given to the mineral, as Pyrite was used to spark flames to light fires. Pyrite, or iron pyrite, is an iron disulfide, which is characterized by the cubic crystal system and the hardness of 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale. Pyrite is derived mostly from Peru, the USA, Bolivia and Spain.
