STONE DETAILS

The word “pyrite” is taken from the Greek word «πυρ» meaning Fire. That name was given to the mineral, as Pyrite was used to spark flames to light fires. As for its chemical composition, Pyrite is an Iron Sulphide, which cristalises in the cubic formation. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 6-6.5. Pyrite can be found in different countries, including  Peru .
