Heliotrope Heliotrope takes its name from the Greek for a flower of the same name This mineral is a type of Quartz, containing chalcedony and jasper. Heliotrope, as other forms of Quartz, crystalises in a Trigonal system, and it measures 7 on the Mohs scale. Heliotrope may be found in different countries, including India, Australia, Russia and Brazil.
