STONE DETAILS

Iolite The word “Iolite” has Greek roots and means Mauve stone. It belongs to the category of pyritic minerals and crystallizes in the orthorhombic system. On the Mohs scale, it measure 7-7.5 hardness. Iolite may be found in various countries, including Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Tanzania and Australia.

Crystal Quartz The name for this mineral derives from the Greek word “xalaza”, which means hail, due to the fact that in ancient times many people believed that it is solidified water. It is a silicone mineral, which crystalises in the trigonal/hexagonal system. Its hardness is measured at 7 on the Mohs scale. Crystal Quartz may be found in various countries, including Brazil, the USA, Sri Lanka, India and Madagascar.
