STONE DETAILS
Spinel takes its name from the Latin word “spina” which means thorn/prickle, due to the barbed pints of its crystals which look like thorns. Spinel is a magnesium oxide, which is characterized by the cubic crystal system and the hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale. Spinel can be found in different countries, including Brazil, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and USA.
