STONE DETAILS

Its name derives from the Greek world “rodon” which means rose, due to its pink color. Rhodonite is associated with black manganese oxides which may occur as matrix and fracture-fillings. It is a manganese silicate mineral, which often contains significant amounts of magnesium, iron and calcium. Rhodonite is characterized by the triclinic crystal system and the hardness of 5.5-6.5 on the Mohs scale. Deposits of this mineral there are in different countries including Argentina, the USA, Australia, India, Canada, England, Peru, Russia, Brazil and Sweden.
