Aquamarine The name of this mineral derives from the Latin “aqua-marina” which means salt water, due to its colour. It is a Crystalline Silica and belongs to the Beryl family. It is characterized by the hexagonal crystal system and the hardness of 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale.  Aquamarine can be found in various countries including Brazil, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.

Crystal Quartz The name for this mineral derives from the Greek word “χάλαζα”, which means hail, due to the fact that in ancient times many people believed that it is solidified water. It is a silicone mineral, which crystalises in the trigonal/hexagonal system. Its hardness is measured at 7 on the Mohs scale. Crystal Quartz may be found in various countries, including Brazil, the USA, Sri Lanka, India and Madagascar.
