STONE DETAILS

Onyx The word Onyx comes from the ancient Greek and means nail. It is a silicone dioxide-that is a type of Quartz, and has a hardness of 6- 7 on the Mohs scale. It it is characterized by the trigonal crystal system, and can be found in Brazil, Mexico, Algeria, Uruguay and India, to name just a few.

Spinel Spinel takes its name from the Latin word “spina” which means thorn/prickle, due to the barbed pints of its crystals which look like thorns. Spinel is a magnesium oxide and is characterized by the cubic crystal system and the hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale. Spinel can be found in different countries, including Brazil, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and the USA.
