STONE DETAILS
Iolite:
The name Iolite is of Greek origin, meaning purple stone, and was given to this stone because of the purple hues it displays. Iolite, also known as cordierite, belongs to the silicate minerals and the cyclosilicate group. It is characterised by an orthorhombic crystal system and a hardness of 7-7,5 on the Mohs scale. Iolite can be found in several countries, some of which are Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Brazil, USA, India and Tanzania.

Crystal Quartz:
Its name is derived from the Greek word “Halaza”, which means hail, as in ancient times it was believed to be solidified water. It belongs to the class of silicate minerals and is characterised by a trigonal to hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Quartz can be found in many countries around the world, the main ones being Brazil, the USA, Sri Lanka, India and Madagascar.
